Korimako Education Legal Requirements
Korimako Education facilitators are familiar with school policies, their associated procedures and protocols and abide by them. Initial meetings with principal at beginning of contract determine school processes relating to health and safety, privacy and vulnerable children act requirements.
Child ProtectionKorimako Education follows the Ministry of Education Child Protection Policy as this specifies that it covers all employees, contractors and volunteers working for the Ministry’s national and regional offices.
The vulnerable children's policy referred to above is an essential document for induction and ongoing coaching. Facilitators have a clear understanding of potential ethical impacts of work when working with children, particularly vulnerable children, and with educators. Understanding how the unintended use of power impacts on engagement and accuracy of data, ensuring the security of data, gathering informed consent, confidence of privacy, etc. are just some of the ethical considerations that are factored into facilitator learning. Regular coaching sessions with an external coach has established a sound checking system for this. |
